Money vs Sympathy

Spanish mosque design for institute. This is the topic that I glanced at in the Star paper this morning. Again it never ceases to amaze me how our Malaysians are spending their money. I’m not objecting to the building of the institute nor am I condoning it but at least have a little compassion towards the other poor people out there. I mean if you have the means of building such a magnificent building why not build something less flashy and expensive and use the remaining money to do charity.

Each morning I open up the papers I’ll see people of Malaysia asking, seeking for medical help, in terms of a lung, or a heart transplant or even $ for operation. Why can’t these money be used to be donated to them rather than spending RM50 million on one institute? I thought we are supposed to be a caring society? Or is that just a saying to make ourselves feel better. I’m happy to see during the tsunami a few years back, most Malaysians actually worked together to help these poor souls whether in Malaysia or even in Indonesia or India that side. So why do we have to wait till a disaster strike only then we show our caring side? Why can’t we do it before anything bad happens?

It’s something to think about. A sad little Friday to see news like these where money is just squandered away and a few pages away you see people asking for help because of sickness.

if they can really fully utilize the institute and also the $$$ used to build it......then it's fine with me. a state-of-the-art institute will save more lives actually.

but whether they can do it...that's a totally different question. well, let's do hope that they are like us..human beings who learn from past mistakes.

if they don...they don waste the stupid money to build some useless thing! donate to those in need!

carbine_79: I'm not too sure what institute it is but it's stated in the Friday Star paper. They didn't elaborate much.

Alvin Lim: I'm pretty skeptical whether the institue will be put to good use or not. We'll see about it in a couple of years.

RM50 mil for a blady mosque institute? Its just sad.. No wonder they have to cut the subsidy of petrol so that they could subsidise all these shits..

"Joe" who is constantly craving: Yea. And I won't be surprised if they do by double or triple. Hhaahah!!

Mcmercedez: Not surprising on that. Can be other things as well

Zewt: Don't question? And can I know why then? What do you mean by run amok?

When the govt forgets that the money they have is held in trust for the people, it is time to do something about it. Vote this govt out!

Anonymous: Vote the government out?? That's what we can only call wishful thinking. Sigh.
